OfflineWe are hoping to organise an ECVO eye testing clinic at our club championship show on the 20th April at the KC building/Stoneleigh. If we have enough takers we will book ophthalmologist Christine Heinrich from The Willows/Solihull, West Midlands to run this clinic for us.
Here's the link to Christine's page at The Willows:

The Kennel Club have now accepted the ECVO scheme to run alongside the existing BVA clinics that are organised throughout the UK.
Why the ECVO?
Well its costs to you will be lower than the existing BVA scheme and if we have enough takers for our clinic then we can negotiate the costs down even further (every penny helps these days with the recession we find ourselves in currently). You should also be aware that the BVA have effectively CLOSED our club scheme down. They have driven ophthalmologists away from being directly involved with us in the operating of our scheme. Our club scheme was one of the last of its kind and it is a great shame that the BVA has treated the breed club so badly after we had given them access to the eyes of our breed for many years. We had even gained the support of the Kennel Club to recognise our scheme alongside that of the BVA and were at the point of getting our eye scheme data recorded on the KC's database. Which would have then been published in the BRS (Breed Records Supplement). But our battle with taking on the mighty BVA has been lost I'm afraid! They stopped Tony Wall from working with us privately and no one else will continue running our scheme for us. So we have now hit a brick wall I'm afraid.
So this is why I am now actively supporting the organisation of ECVO clinics in the future.

OfflineReluctantly I have to cancel our eye clinic arranged for our championship show. We could not book a tester for the event as the people we approached were not available over the Easter weekend. The AHT have agreed to put on a clinic for us at there building in the near future.
All those booked in will be notified accordingly of it's cancellation.
Regards,
Pauline
