SHCGB ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP

SHOW AWARDS

The Annual Championship Show Awards have been running for many years now. Points for all awards can only be won at Championship shows where the judge appears on the SHCGB Judges Lists. Points are collated for the Club by Laurna McKie.

1) Dog and Bitch of the Year

1st in class = 5 points

2nd in class = 4 points

3rd in class = 3 points

4th in class = 2 points

5th in class = 1 point

Only one placing, the highest per show, will count.

Additional points are awarded as follows:

CC & BOB = 8 points

CC & BOS = 7 points

RCC = 5 points

Worked example:

Dog wins 1st in limit (5 points)  2nd in open (0 points)  and the RCC (5 points), giving a total of 10 points

Puppy wins 2nd in puppy ( 0 points), 3rd in Junior (0 points) and 1st in Novice (5 points, giving a total of 5 points.

2) Puppy of the Year

Points are allocated as above, with an additional 5 points for Best Puppy In Breed. Best Puppy in Breed points are NOT used in the calculation for Dog or Bitch of the Year.

3) Veteran of the Year

Points are allocated as above. An additional 5 points are awarded for Best Veteran at a Championship show where a Best Veteran is declared. A dog will qualify for veteran points as soon as it turns 7 years of age. Best Veteran points are not used in the calculation for Dog or Bitch of the Year.

4) Stud Dog and Brood Bitch of the Year

These two awards are calculated on points won by the progeny for their sire and dam. Points are as above. Any points won for Top Puppy and Top Veteran will be used in the calculation of this award.
