Veteran class is a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 dog teams where the average age of the team is 7 and over) * If numbers allow. If we receive insufficient entries then E2 class will take priority as this can accommodate 2 and 3 dog teams. Trails: Those of you who have raced Rendlesham before will be aware of the near-perfect trail conditions even after heavy rain. The venue offers grass trails with sandy stretches. Dog boots will not be necessary but you might like to bring a compass and map for the many turns !!! Don’t let the many turns put you off, it keeps the dogs happy and adds to the fun of the Rendlesham Rally. Suffolk can be warm so trail distances may vary. Directions: From the A14 take the A12 North (signed Lowestoft), after 7 miles, at roundabout, turn right, (signed Bawdsey B1152 and Rendlesham Forest Centre). Keep on road for approx. 2 miles, at roundabout turn left following Orford B1084. Stay on B1084 for approx. 4 miles. Entrance to forest will be on right. SHCGB signs from this point. At 2.7 miles Pentre-Llyn-Cymmer is signposted right and South Alwen on the left.*** Go straight on and North Alwen is on the left signed ‘Alwen’. From the North: Take the A543 from Denbigh towards Pentrefoalas. Turn South on the B4501. Go past the Visitor Centre on the left and North Alwen Forest is further along on the right signed ‘Alwen’.***Approx 0.5 miles further south is the sign for Pentre-Llyn=Cymmer on the left and South Alwen is on the right. Accommodation: Tourist Information 01690 710426 Camping: Anyone wanting to stay in vans/caravans etc. Bob at the Sportman’s Arms (North on the B4501, turn left on the A543 and the pub is on the right), does not have accommodation, but, as always, has invited us camp out in his car park.
